Robotic Events 2008-2009

1.    Outreach Community Service – Monday, August 25, 2008 at
        Waiakea Elementary, 5:30PM ~7:00PM. 
        Monthly Reading Night - Theme Robotics.
        Provide hands-on robots for the students to play with.

2.    Get to Know-you Bonding Activity, Sept. 2008 TBA.
        Students/Parents - you decide and plan.
         HIS swimming pool potluck, bowling, picnic, beach party   

3.    HELCO Energy Fair “Robotics Roundup”, Sept. 27, 2008
         Prince Kuhio Plaza,  10AM - 2PM. 
         VEX mini-scrimmage, community service. 

4.    VEX Scrimmage, October 4, 2008. UH-Hilo UCB
       May or may not participate.

5.    Fall Intersession Break, Oct 6 - 10, 2008.

6.   Camp Eureka:  A Robotics Adventure.
         Oct 6-10, 2008,  8AM - 12PM, Grades 3-6
         A program of Hilo High School Robotics Club.
       Focus on First Lego League (FLL) design, programming, and ending with
        a Lego SumoBot competition.

7.    October TBA Saturday.
        H.I.S. Robotic Club ROV Workshop. 
      A fun day to learn and experiment.

8.    November TBA Saturday:  Annual MATE-BIRR ROV Workshop.
         a.  Basic ROV designs
         b.  CAD programming
         c.  Parallax and C programming
         d.  Soldering – guest instructors.
         e.  Guest mentors/speakers

9.    December 1, 2008:  MATE releases competition missions –
        Start working hard!

10.    Science Fair Showcase, December 16, 2008 
         Hilo Intermediate School Auditorium
         May have projects from Hilo High.
         HIS Robotics Club may have projects or demos (show or hands-on)
